PIXIE’S jewellery is oiled, waxed and water-resistant but should not be immersed in water or kept in high humidity. If it does get wet remove spilt liquids from wooden surfaces as soon as possible.

Wood may expand and shrink with differences in temperature and humidity. When not being worn, do not leave your jewellery in your car, in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Keep away from a direct source of heat to avoid loss of the original colour and deformations. If any piece needs to be cleaned, wipe softly with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth from cotton or another material.

Oiled and waxed, your PIXIE’S jewellery will be beautiful for years but during day-to-day use, the oil layer gets wiped off or absorbed by the wood. Depending on how often you wear the jewellery you will probably need to oil it someday. When crafting we mostly use ancient olive wood so the easiest way to maintain the original colour is to use olive oil when you notice your piece is beginning to look a little dull. Gently rub olive oil or beeswax over the whole surface of your piece of jewellery. When you have finished applying the oil remove any excess with a cloth and store the item in a dry, clean place away from direct sunlight or heat.
